All you need to know about Lemongrass Essential Oil

“The most underrated oil in the collection. Bold, grassy, and fiercely protective.”

The Story Behind the Oil

Lemongrass is the oil that surprises people. They expect something soft and citrus-light. What they get is bold, intensely grassy, powerfully aromatic — and extraordinary. Cymbopogon flexuosus has been used for centuries across India, Southeast Asia, and West Africa for everything from fever and infection to anxiety and digestive discomfort. In Ayurvedic medicine, it was known as a premier oil for purification and protective wellness.

At Royal Oils, we consider lemongrass one of the most underappreciated oils available. Its antimicrobial credentials are remarkable — it has been shown to kill methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria that defeat conventional treatment. It supports healthy cholesterol balance, calms anxiety, and promotes blood sugar balance. It is, by every measure, a true MVP in a natural wellness cabinet. We offer it to you as one of our most enthusiastic recommendations.

What You’ll Experience

Lemongrass Essential Oil has a bold, intensely fresh, grassy-citrus aroma with earthy, herbaceous undertones. It is simultaneously energising and cleansing — one of the most powerfully aromatic oils in the Royal Oils collection.

  • One of the most powerfully antimicrobial essential oils available — research has shown lemongrass to be effective against MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria, an extraordinary natural protective property.
  • A powerful immune-supportive aromatic — widely used in protective wellness blends alongside oregano, thyme, and tea tree for seasonal immune challenges.
  • Traditionally used across Asian healing cultures to promote a sense of calm and emotional ease — one of the most effective aromatic companions for anxiety and nervous tension.
  • Traditionally associated with supporting healthy cholesterol and blood sugar balance — a testament to the extraordinary breadth of this remarkable plant’s wellness potential.
  • An exceptional natural insect repellent — its high citral content makes it a powerful deterrent for mosquitoes and other insects, widely used in natural outdoor sprays.
  • A powerful addition to household cleaning products — its bold, fresh aroma purifies and deodorises any space, with a naturally antimicrobial profile that goes far beyond fragrance.

A Word from Our Heart

We serve a God who is extravagant in His provision — who places MRSA-fighting power in a plant that grows abundantly across the tropics, freely available to anyone who plants it. Lemongrass reminds us that God’s pharmacy was never meant to be exclusive. His gifts are for all people, in all places. Use this oil boldly, faithfully, and with gratitude.
